Wilmington Police have arrested two male juveniles and recovered a stolen vehicle. On August 26, at 12:02 p.m., members of the Wilmington Police Special Operation Division Traffic Unit were in the 2300 block of Washington Street, when they observed a stolen vehicle. Police attempted to conduct a vehicle stop, at which time the vehicle disregarded and fled the area. A short time later, the vehicle was located in the 600 block of West 26th Street, where the driver – a 17-year-old male juvenile fled on foot, and following a brief foot pursuit was taken into custody without incident. A second 17-year-old male juvenile remained on scene and was taken into custody without incident, and found to be in possession of 37 grams of marijuana. The first 17-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic violations: Disregarding a Police Officer’s Signal Receiving Stolen Property Over $1,500 Resisting Arrest He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and was committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center on $5,000 cash-only bail. The second 17-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offense: Possession of Marijuana He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released on his own recognizance.
