2 officers shot, suspect dead after shooting in Kaufman County

A Crandall police officer and a Kaufman County deputy were shot and a man was killed early Saturday at a gas station near Forney, authorities say. Shortly after 3 a.m., the two officers responded to a panic alarm in the 5000 block of FM 741, between Crandall and Forney, according to an email statement from the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office. When the officers arrived, they encountered a man and shots were fired.
