Oakland County sheriff’s deputy shot, killed while following stolen vehicle

Sources have confirmed that a deputy was following a stolen vehicle when at least one person inside the vehicle opened fire, striking the deputy. The shooting happened the night of Saturday, June 22 in the area of Park Grove Street and Schoenherr Road in Detroit. Video shared on social media shows Detroit police shutting down roads and helping get the deputy to a hospital. The deputy was pronounced dead. Bouchard said that deputy Bradley Reckling was working for the auto theft unit and following a stolen vehicle in Detroit when the suspects opened fire, striking him multiple times and killing him.
